A big thank you to stallholders and everybody who attended the Charity Arts & Crafts Fair at Elstead Cricket Pavilion on Sunday 21st November for some seasonal shopping.
The Fair was organised by our Trustee Sue Briggs (thank you Sue!) in support of our South West Surrey Domestic Abuse Outreach Service (part of Citizens Advice Waverley) and other local charities.
Sue picks up the story from the day:
“Stallholders agreed to donate a minimum of 25% of their proceeds, and some donated much more. Money is still dribbling in and at this stage we have raised a total £2,156 for charities including Citizens Advice, Cancer Research, CIRCRA, RSCH, Samaritans, a Children’s Charity in Ghana and Phyliss Tuckwell. I am personally especially grateful that £1,445 raised as part of that total sum, is for South West Surrey Domestic Abuse.“
About South West Surrey Domestic Abuse Outreach Service
South West Surrey Domestic Abuse Outreach Service is a member of the Surrey Domestic Abuse Partnership – a group of four independent charities (including ESDAS, Your Sanctuary, North Surrey Domestic Abuse Service) – working together across the whole of Surrey to ensure that survivors of domestic abuse are safe, and to build a future where domestic abuse is not tolerated.
The service does this by providing free, confidential, independent and impartial advice to anyone aged 16 or above affected by domestic abuse living in the boroughs of Waverley and Guildford. The service provides skilled practical help, ongoing emotional support, and information and advice on issues such as safety planning, housing rights, relationships and separation, civil and criminal court proceedings, and the needs of children affected by domestic abuse.
